The steak knife draws on the same spare formal language as the other Pawson cutlery pieces. The design takes contrasting conditions — curved and straight, matte and gloss, the handle’s heft and the blade’s slenderness — and, through a series of refined junctions, achieves visual harmony. The rich grain of the dark Macassar ebony is perfectly balanced by the characteristic organic patterning of the bright Damascus steel.
The steak knife is the outcome of collaboration between specialized Japanese knife makers KAI. The seamless assimilation of Pawson's contemporary vision and KAI's age old craftsmanship is reflected in the refinement of the finished project.
