Overton Table is named after the town in West Yorkshire, England, a county that inspires Matthew Hilton, with it’s rugged landscape and history of producing modernist sculptors. Every plank in the solid wood tabletop features beautiful joinery which Hilton devised for the CNC machine, allowing for greater table lengths, no longer bound by the height of the tree. The hardwood top is complemented by the cleverly engineered metal leg frame, and the metal detailing running through the centre of the tabletop. Designed by Matthew Hilton for his eponymous brand, and manufactured by De La Espada craftsmen.
Available in American black walnut, American white oak, or European Ash in a range of finishes. Legs and central tabletop detail in taupe or black anodized aluminium, or uncoated naval brass polished or brushed. On models 395J, 395Q, and 395V, the “brass” option applies to the legs only -- the central support beam on the underside of these larger sizes is black painted aluminium.

One of Britain’s most esteemed industrial designers and a Royal Designer for Industry, Matthew Hilton has over 30 years of experience in his field, designing for leading manufacturers. His furniture is held in the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum, and the Geffrye Museum, London.
In 2007, Matthew established his eponymous brand as a place he could have complete creative control. Working in premium, robust materials including solid hardwood, cast iron, and brass, Hilton creates rigorously functional products that improve with the mark of age. Thinking like a sculptor, Matthew Hilton considers every view of a product equally, allowing for a sense of delight and surprise over the years as the user discovers new details and complexities.
De La Espada is the manufacturing partner for the Matthew Hilton brand.
“If you live with something, you might pick it up and look at the bottom. So the bottom of it is equally important. Every aspect is important because it is something that is going to stay in your life,” Matthew Hilton.
