It was a Perfect Day… Phillippe Starck’s friendship with musician Lou Reed began in 1996 in Paris at the Hotel Monceau. Their enduring friendship was immortalized fifteen years later in the Lou Read chair as part of Starck’s renovation for that very same hotel. The sculptural curves are an invitation to sit back and relax, a manifesto for reading and conversation in an era dominated by screens."This project is a reminder that it is far better to spend time in conversation or reading activities than in front of the TV or computer.” What better way to sit back and enjoy to some music- maybe something from Lou Reed’s last album, Lulu, a collaboration with Metallica?

An armchair/character, with an organic outline, perhaps anthropomorphous, conceived with leather directly fixed on a fiberglass skeleton. The armchair is entirely covered in leather and hand-stitched. The unexpected comfort is given by its perfect ergonomics.

Armchair fully upholstered in leather with Polyurethane Baydur® structure with internal metal reinforcement. Upholstered in brown leather.

W70 x D76 x H120 cm. Seat height 42 cm.

Made in Italy.
